State Considers Building Rentable Cabins In Pawtuckaway State Park Print E-mail

According to an article in The Union Leader newspaper, the State is considering building rentable cabins in Pawtuckaway State Park to bring in more revenue. A committee has been formed to investigate ways for the Park system to raise more revenue and the cabin proposal is one method that is currently up for discussion. The committee is set to present its draft proposal by June 28th and then solicit public feedback before hearings are scheduled. What impact this would have on the Pawtuckaway State Park's septic systems, lake water quality, and boat overcrowding is not yet clear.

Historic Survey Maps of Mount Pawtuckaway Print E-mail

Historic U.S. Geological Survey Maps of Mount Pawtuckaway are available from the UNH DIMOND LIBRARY Documents Department & Data Center. Maps can be downloaded from 1919 and 1957 in JPG format. The 1919 map shows how few houses were built on the lake at the time. They also show how the roads around the lake have been extended since that time.
