If you read Gladys Whitney's interview in the History section of this web site, then you learned that Hans Brustle was a wood carver from Germany. During the interview Gladys mentioned that Hans had done carving for the St. Paul's School in Concord, NH. Since 1856 St. Paul's School has carved the names of each graduating class, or "form" as they call it, into the wood paneling of the building named Coit House. As you walk the beautiful hallways of Coit House these carvings line the walls. Entering the main hall, now the dining area, the carvings done by Hans Brustle can be seen. Below are photographs of the dining hall and some details of the carvings. The PLIA would like to thank The Reverend Richard E. Greenleaf, Dean of Chapel at St. Paul's School, for his kind permission to photograph these carvings. www.sps.edu
