The 15th Annual Pawtuckaway Open Charity Ice Golf and Chili Competition is scheduled for February 3rd. We are all set to go, except we’re missing one thing – ICE! We’ve had some very creative ideas for alternative events:
Kayak polo Polar Bear Dip (the first one to dive under the water and bring back a ball from previous tournaments wins.) Set up a driving range on the beach and see who can be the first one to hit the Mokos’ house. Invite Al Gore to speak on global warming.
Well these are all good--here is our current plan: The chili competition will definitely be held as usual. Given the nice weather, it could be a great day to bring the family, hang outside and enjoy some of New Hampshire’s finest chili’s. If there is ice in the cove, we can have fun skating. . In true die-hard Ice Golf spirit, we aren’t ready to give up on the tournament just yet. We will make a decision on that portion of the event about 10 days prior. Keep practicing your swing and stay tuned for more details. Despite Mother Nature’s tricks, we’re still hoping we can raise money for New Hampshire-based Families in Transition. Over the past five years, we’ve raised $16,533 for this great organization. We were hoping to surpass the $20,000 mark with this year’s event. In addition to money raised through the Chili Cookoff, we will be selling Virtual Hole Sponsorships for this year’s event. More info on sponsorships will forthcoming.
