It has been a great pleasure taking on the duties of running the new PLIA web site this month. Marc Dole, CEO of Hatchling Studios (and our neighbor on the lake) generously donated a new website design tool, hosting and his staff's time to produce an initial layout for our new site. The new website management tool will drastically improve our ability to create and distribute content to PLIA members. What you see today is only the start. We are just delving into the capabilities that this tool presents to us. So, check back often, new features will be showing up regularly.

The most exciting aspect of our new web site is the ability for our members to provide boating safety information, water quality data, conservation tips, stories, history, photographs, wildlife sightings, and events notices with minimal effort. We are already receiving event notices and wildlife photographs after being on-line for only 3 days. Wow!

I have a neighbor who is going through their photo albums to find photographs of the lake taken many years ago. I can't wait to post them. I'm sure we have many members with great photographs they would like to share. If you have digital photos, just email them to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you have traditional photographs, we can arrange to scan them into digital form (send me an email and I'll get back to you). And, any stories that go along with the photos would make them that much better!

So, I hope you enjoy your new PLIA web site. Together we can make this a place to share information and memories all year round. Send me an email with your questions or comments, I'd love to here from you.
